Four years ago , at 2:30 p.m, on this day, she arrived into my world with a loud defying cry announcing her entry into the world . And the doctor said, look at your daughter , she looks exactly like you. Numb with the injection yet alert , I smiled peacefully . Yes, at last I have become a mother.

She is indeed a miracle. Her arrival made me and my husband more closer as a couple. Previously everything was for us. But now , everything was for her. Our routine changed . Gone were the days when we could hang out late nights for movies, dinners and walk freely as we wished. Now late nights mean keeping awake for nursing her. Yes , we now had to do everything according to her schedule.

She is truly an angel. She always understands that her mother is working and even in her infancy , she never kept late nights unless for the occasional nights where she was in pain or having fever. She dutifully got up early and got ready to go to the babysitter although with a pained look in her eyes which made me feel guilty.

She made our world complete with her smiles, her talks and her tantrums also. I don't know how I existed without her in my life rather how we existed before . Shopping is looking for clothes and accessories for her. It is very rare for us to go to shops and not pick up something for her , even if it is a ten dirham toy . Her happiness and joy at receiving the unexpected is a treat to watch.

She has slowly changed from a dependent infant to an independent kindergartener. Today , she can take care of her things, and has an independent opinion for everything. One moment, she is throwing tantrums trying to get her way and the next moment , she comes and hugs and tells a sorry with tear filled eyes.
I dread the day when she will leave the nest to make a nest of her own. Years will fly away in a second and soon that day will arrive. But till then, I will cherish each and every moment with her. I will enjoy her childhood and my motherhood with all the strings attached.
